It sure does 🙌🏽

SPF plays a vital role in blocking out UVA and UVB rays which have a large part to play in ageing skin and causing skin cancers. Skin is our largest organ and we take that for granted! I wear spf 50 daily on my face and neck!

✨ The real reason you’re not seeing results from microneedling… ✨

Spoiler 🚨 if it’s done right, then it’s not the treatment itself, it’s what happens between your appointments that makes the biggest difference, but also make sure to choose your therapist wisely.

✔️ Consistency matters. Microneedling works by stimulating collagen production over time, not overnight. Skipping sessions or leaving long gaps between treatments can slow your progress.

✔️ Your homecare routine is just as important. Using the right skincare products helps support healing, your skin barrier and collagen production.

✔️ SPF is non-negotiable. Freshly treated skin is more vulnerable to UV damage, and sun exposure can lead to pigmentation issues and compromise your results.

I have a few favourites where SPF is concerned so let me share them with you in this hot weather! 🌞

I wear mostly the Neostrata if I want Clear SPF, ColoreScience if I want a good tint and K Ceutic for something in between! Avocado Zinc I wear less often but I do love as it is made entirely from natural ingredients! I stock most of these in clinic or can direct you to the best place to purchase online to ensure you’re getting the real deal!

☀️ Chemical vs Mineral SPF ☀️

Chemical SPF absorbs UV rays and converts them into heat, these SPFs are usually lightweight.

Mineral SPF (zinc/titanium) sits on the skin to almost reflect UV rays, these SPFs are ideal for sensitive, inflamed or post-treatment skin.

Neither is “better”, it just depends on your skin type! Ultimately the best SPF is the one you’ll wear every single day 🌞

It’s usually not one big thing… it’s the tiny habits repeated every day.

Plucking “just one hair” every morning still adds up to overplucking over time, and eventually those hairs can stop growing back as thick… or at all. 😅
